Is The Current Trajectory of AI Sustainable? In-Person

In the burgeoning field of AI ethics, the call for “sustainable AI” has been made loudly and often. Discussions around this topic have largely focused on the notion of environmental sustainability. While environmental sustainability is an absolutely critical topic, sustainability itself is a multifaceted concept with other important, intertwined aspects. This discussion will help us more fully reckon with the social and economic costs of generative AI. But, through gaining a more robust understanding of sustainability, we might also glimpse a path forward for a sustainable AI infrastructure.
