Systemic Injustice: Bias & Fairness in AI Systems In-Person

The proliferation and increased capabilities of AI systems have seen them integrated more deeply into decision-making processes. This has raised legitimate concerns about the demonstrated biases in these systems. Over-reliance on AI systems in these contexts can perpetuate existing inequalities. This session will focus on discussing not only the impact of bias in AI systems but also some proposed strategies to mitigate such bias, as well as challenges for those strategies.
